Devlog Week 2: Level Design
This week, I focused on getting the layout of the first level. We decided to start with 2 rows of drones, the NPC type that moves back and forth. As you can see in the images there is an opening on the far right, and then on the far left. This will make it so the player has to navigate from one side to another, and keep in mind these openings will change position as the drones move back and forth as well. The, I added a bench (With a placeholder model) to break up the empty section of the level. this splits this hallway basically in half. Then, just before reaching the train, there is one final crowd, standing what is meant to represent those big dumpsters you see in train stations. You may have to use force to get through! Finally, in the space after the crowd but just before the train, we decided to open the station up a bit, to accommodate the entire length of train. This makes reaching the end satisfying, giving the player a feeling of freedom and openness as they finally arrive at the train, hopefully before it leaves.
